A bad day...

..or should I say a bad week. As you might know, I'm in Mildura now,pruning almond trees. Hard work, but a fest for myself. However, this week really sucked. First two days I was doing ok, 2 rows, meaning about 100 dollar a day. But wednesday and thursday it rained, so after an hour we got send home. Meaning I made just enough to pay for the rent and the petrol those days. Also got a slap in the eye which broke one of my contacts in two and there came blood and push out of my eye. Also, there is a lot of cuts and scratches on my arms due to heavy resistence of the trees. :P But, the girls suffer the most (bruses), so I can't complain.
Also, being home so early on wednesday I bought myself a pair of boots with iron nose so I could start with the chainsaw yesterday. But they didn't want any more people, so bought the boots for nothing. :@
However, today was the hilight of the week. Supervisor was bit late today, so we had a late start (about 8.30). But after I did one row (about 11AM), I couldn't find him any more. So I helped the girls for a while and then drove around to look for him. Although it was fun driving with the van in the sand and mud, quite ennoying when you can't work and are wasting your time. So decided to just help the girls with their rows. And they were glad I did, because they had had it. Especially Sorcha, if she could kill with a look, the whole farm would burn. :S
About 1PM we finished their rows and handed in the tools. Ready to go, but first we had to pick Ish en Richard up, since they do the chainsawing. They also wanted to go, but Ish had to wait for a supervisor for his pay. At 3 we decided to go, tired of waiting. So we headed for the contracter to get our pay for the week before. But he didn't have the money, so he called the supervisor. While waiting, Rich went to get beer and the others started drinking. I think we waited for about 1,5 hours before they finally came. And then it turned out that mine was missing. :S:@ So, lot of discussion and decided to settle it tomorrow. So we left defeated.
But not on the road for 5 minutes, there was an alcohol check by the police. Luckely I don't like beer and we decided that I should drive (normally Rich drives the afternoon since I do the morning). So I had my first blow test. And then they asked for my licence...which I had forgotten in my car after using it 2 days ago. :| Luckely the agent believed me and didn't give me a fine. he made my day a bit less desastres.
So, this week in short: scratches over my hands, face and arms, (almost) lost an eye, ruined a new pair of contacts, lived on my last 20$$ for a week and didn't get paid 450$.
And now I ready for bed, it's 8PM. Had a negtive outburst earlier, but found my happy place again. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. :)

jeetje ralf.. wat een gedoe en dat je dan ook nog je geld niet krijgt.. vreselijk hoor wel dat het er anders aan toe gaat als hier.. hoop wel dat je het nog hebt gekregen, je hebt in ieder geval al wel weer een heleboel nieuwe mensen ontmoet zo te horen..in ieder geval heel veel succes..
