Hello folks!
Been silent here for a while, believe it got something to do with me not doing that much. I'm still in Adelaide. Mainly been applying for jobs. I really can't see another advert or application letter! :S Done this for more then a week now. Got one interview, which wasn't good enough and one email saying I wasn't chosen for an interview. The rest: nothing! So, yesterday I decided: enough. Move my ass. So I'm probably heading towards Cairns (over Alice Springs) soon for some fruit picking. Probably with another Dutchie I met in Melbourne. She's on the way here now and contacted me couple of days back. And today...I finally visited the city. :)
Got up at seven this morning which is really early since it's normally between 9 and 11. Started the day with baking. Had no more bread, so I made some more jummyjummy little 'broodjes' with grains in them. End then the 30 min bus drive to the city.
First thing I did was a visit to the Southern Australian Museum. I now know exactly which animal here can kill me how.. :S They had a lot of stuffed animals as well as skeletons of animals and more. Also, there was a floor with aboriginal and pacific islands culture and history. Prefered the enimals migration information above the aboriginal history, but in general I liked it.
Next I had my lunch and walked south. Paid a little visit to Haigh's chocolat factory. Jumjum, free tasters as well! And interesting information/tour.
Then I had the choice: Abo culture museum or cinema. You pick which one I did. :) And around 5 I wanted to go to the botanic gardens, but unfortunately they were already closed.:( So back home (and apparently busses are more expensive around 5). Back at Chris' house his mom took me out for dinner (Chris is in Melbourne this week for work) and that was about the end of my day.
Ow yeah, just wanted to go for petrol (price had dropped from 1,35 to 1,11), but my car doesn't start...flat battery. :( So this unfortunately means I have to do the repairs before driving to Cairns (something with trying NOT to be stuck in the out back :P). But also, before I have a job. So, anyone, got a job for me??? ;)
Well, that is. Just one interesting day this last week. See ya all, miss ya!

Beslissing die je neemt is misschien de goede. Adelaide gaat nu richting winter, dus ....
Misschien is in het noorden iets meer voor je gading te vinden.
Succes ermee en laat even weten wanneer je richting Alice Springs c.q. Cairns vertrekt.

Hallo Ralf,
Wat later dan je van me gewend bent, maar je zult wel van pap en mam gehoord hebben waarom.
Blijf vooral genieten van je ervaringen en de ontmoetingen met de mensen aldaar.
En je zult dadelijk beslist een job vinden, de auto zal gemaakt worden en alles zal weer van een leien dakje gaan.

Ja, ik verwacht veel van je, Ralf... :P
Moet je werken omdat je geld nodig hebt of verveel je je daar in Australie? Heb je al veel gezien van je lijstje? Tenminste ik neem aan dat je zoiets hebt - een lijstje van alles wat je daar wil zien.
Valt me trouwens wel van je tegen dat je niet weet hoe je Fak-cie kamp schrijft. Hadden we je misschien toch 3 jaar terug niet moeten toelaten. ;)
