Hey ya all!
I'm now in Airlie Beach. Have just brought my car to the garage, since the brakes snapped when we were on the way here last thursday. But should be road worthy again tomorrow.
After we got here thursday, we looked around a bit for cruises on the Whitsundays. And we got a last minute, whoehaha, almost half price for a 3 day tour on a sailing boat! :) Also was a dive included, and I bought one extra: a night dive. This last one was amazing!! Big fishies and a really weird experience. Best was a lobster of about 40 cm and his 'voelsprieten' another 40! And i found a 25-30cm crab hiding in the corals. Big f*ck*r it was! Funny was as well at the end, we turned our torches off and moved the water. The plancton then reacted on the movement and we saw hundreds of little lights! Fun. :D
During the other dive, and lots and lots of snorkeling, we saw big fish (say about a metre long), sharkies (just small ones, 30-40 cm), lot of turtles, thousands of fish in other sizes and beautifull coral. I also dived in some caves, showing up on the other side. One time almost got stuck tho...not the best to do with only a snorkle. :S Ow yeah, we were stinger suits here because it's jelly fish season and they can kill. unfortunately one of the little buggers found his was in my stinger suit...result was pain on the chest and lots of bites on my belly and chest. Made it to the boat in about 10-15 minutes where it was threated with vinegar. And after a while no pain, end of the day rash was gone as well. Luckily it was one of the less dangerous ones... But this didn't spoil the fun. Next coral, I jumped right in again! :)
So, that was last couple of days, after Cairns. French couple already left me and Janine because the breakes broke down. So more space for me and Janine when we travel further. Only hope those floods don't get worse...

lijkt me inderdaad een enorm mooie ervaring als ik denk hoe fantastisch ik het snorkelen in Egypye al vond.
Blijf ondanks "heimwee" vooral genieten

Tja met al dat water daar, is duiken natuurlijk een goede bezigheid :). Maar hoop toch ook, dat het water vooral blijft waar het hoort en niet nog meer problemen veroorzaakt... Geniet nog (van je laatste tijd??). Heb je al enige idee hoe wanneer wat...???

Hey Ralf,
Hopelijk is je auto snel weer te maken. Wat een mooi verhaal over het duiken. Geniet er maar van! Zoiets is in de Noordzee wss niet mogelijk ;)
